With a taste for luxury, China’s affluent are not only investing huge amounts in art, private jets and sport cars, but are also splurging on luxury vacations and traveling around the world as well. Now, these ultra-rich Chinese are also showing interest in luxurious beauty experiences or what the Chinese media is calling ‘meditel,’ – a combination of medical services and a hotel offering treatment, accommodation and rest. Wealthy tourists will visit South Korea on an exclusive charter flight to splurge on $88,000 Korean “Anti-Aging” tour at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Hotel Seoul.

 

There is a growing interest rich Chinese in the tour packages of shopping, sightseeing and plastic surgery; one of the travel agency is offering this anti-aging program. 

 

One very prestige anti-aging clinic and spa located inside the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Seoul will provide the anti-aging service to the Chinese tourists. It offers the numerous anti-aging programs priced from $440 to $87,680. And, thirty other clients selected the program, which covers a physical check-up, plastic surgery, hair transplantation, and skin care, all costing more than $43,800. Further, three of the Chinese nationals who visited Korea this month booked a ‘full package program’ of 8-nights at a Ritz-Carlton suite which includes a stem cell treatment ranging from $8,768 to $43,800 along with provision of nutritional supplements for six months.

 

As said by the clinic, few of the Chinese tourists also paid more than $88,000 in adding medical items after consultation with doctors. Further, it has also introduced complete wellness packages comprising of medical examination services, filler procedures and high-end spa treatments.

 

So-called meditels, or medical clinics situated inside luxury hotels, are the latest trends in the fast-growing medical tourism industry in South Korea. Meditels allows the patients to use the exclusive medical services they demand, that too without waiting or going through complicated administrative services.
