Vitamin C to Boost Collagen Synthesis

Over-Exposed to Sun Rays

 

Only a desert survives a relentless sun. Even a lush valley becomes a dry, barren Sahara when dehydrated by unlimited sunlight and lack of moisture. Being more valuable a desert our unprotected skin is easily damaged by the sun's penetrating rays. 
 
Approximately 5 per cent of the UV radiation hitting the skin is reflected. The remaining 95 per cent passes into the tissue, gets scattered and then passes out again, or gets absorbed by molecules in the various layers of the epidermis and dermis.
 
UVA rays are longer than UVB so they can penetrate more deeply through the skin’s surface where they kill collagen and elastin, which makes your skin slack and floppy, and cause dry, leathery, blotchy skin. How wrinkled your skin gets depends largely on how much sun you have been exposed to in your life. People, who spend a lot of time outside without adequate protection, develop leathery skin earlier, which makes them look older than they are.
 
UV radiation has many effects on the skin as a result of its absorption by skin molecules, called chromophores, the most important of which is DNA. After UV absorption, DNA undergoes chemical changes. If these alterations are not repaired, they can be highly disruptive to the way cells function. Now it is known that even small amounts of sunlight on the skin can cause DNA damage throughout the entire thickness of the epidermis. Fortunately, most of this is repaired within days, although some permanent damage may remain. The absorption of UV radiation by skin chromophores and the irreparable damage are considered the main causes of visible skin damage.
 
If we want to look tan, without the risk, we should use sunless tanning creams, sprays or mousses. A sunless tan gives our skin protection from the sun if there is SPF included in the product.

Dry skin Relief

 

Dry skin can be uncomfortable and unattractive. It has a low level of sebum and can be prone to sensitivity. The skin has a parched look caused by its inability to retain moisture. Symptoms of the dry skin vary depending on age, health / genetic condition, geographical location or time spent outdoors. They can be as follows:
 
Skin has a rough and dry texture; 
A loss of plumpness – skin appears shrunken or dehydrated;
Skin is dull in appearance;
After showering, bathing, or swimming the skin feels and looks tight;
Peeling of the skin is quite common;
Itchy feeling;
Wrinkles in the skin become much more visible;
Severe redness, inflamed areas, or tenderness in the skin;
Cracks in skin or deep cuts.
Among the main causes for the dry skin are: 
Not enough lubrication to the skin supplied by the oil glands. As a result, the skin becomes dehydrated;
Poor diet. Nutritional deficiencies, especially deficiencies of vitamin A and the B vitamins, can contribute to dry skin;
Environmental factors such as exposure to sun, wind, cold, chemicals, or cosmetics, or excessive bathing with harsh soaps.
 
Well, some dry skin is hereditary, some comes with aging, as natural skin oils diminish, and some can accompany medical conditions such as asthma or thyroid disease. But daily skin care habits such as washing with harsh soaps, using sanitizing or harsh cleansing agents, and scrubbing can also cause or worsen dry skin.
 
Since many dry skin symptoms are due to external causes, they can be well deminished by external skin care treatment. Just making a few adjustments to your daily skin care routine can help. No matter what the cause, there are many things you can do to make dry skin smooth and supple:
 
Skip long, hot showers. Hot water strips oils from the skin faster than warm water. Long showers or baths actually result in dried out skin; 
Use a gentle cleanser or shower gel with moisturizer. Go for unscented, soap-free cleansers instead of harsh cleansers. Use nondetergent, neutral-pH products to cleanse your skin. A moisturizer increases the water content of the outer layers of the skin and gives it a soft, moist look. Dry skin needs plenty of thorough but gentle cleansing, regular stimulation with massage and generous quantities of oil and moisture. It also needs extra careful protection; 
Avoid coming in contact with highly alkaline soaps and detergents like washing sodas and powders which contain highly alkaline and drying ingredients.

Repair Damaged Hair

 

Winter months dry hair causing frizz and summer months bleach and burn hair causing split ends and damage. First, one way to repair damaged split ends that cause frizzy hair is to cut the hair back to the point where the hair is not damaged. But it isn’t the only solution. Even when weather and the outdoors isn't damaging hair, blow drying, coloring hair, styling products and machines can be harmful for hair health. Certainly hair treatments can repair some of the damage. But it’s far easier to prevent damage than it is to repair it.
 
First of all we should think of avoiding heat and styling machines. Limit the use of hot tools to your hair if you are having problems with dryness. Blow dryers and hot irons are counter productive for dry hair. At least if it is really necessary to use these tools for styling, apply good thermal protective treatment.

Fruit, Vegetables and Good Complexion Go Together

 

Good complexion strengthens appeal. Scientists are ready to answer how many fruit and vegetables are necessary for us to be beautiful. Finally it was discovered that for the best visual perception we should eat fruit and vegetables 3 times a day not less than 6 weeks. We should take into account that there are a lot of luteins in carrot, peach, apricot and pumpkin. And tomato, pepper, water melon, and pink grapefruit contain a lot of lycopenes. By the way, it is well known that these natural compounds are also powerful instruments to fight diseases. Doctors find them useful to prevent illness and beauticians regard them as a powerful instrument to improve complexion.
