Why cosmeceuticals ?

The word "cosmeceutical" comes from uniting two words, "cosmetic" and "pharmaceutical". Cosmeceuticals are cosmetic products that contain biologically active ingredients and have medicinal or drug-like benefits.

Such beauty product is cosmeceutical only if it is placed on the skin. If a product is ingested, it is called a nutricosmetic.
